Scientists of UzhNU received a grant of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme
At the end of 2018, the management of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 approved the list of projects to be funded this year. The list includes 34 projects recommended by the Joint Monitoring Committee of the Programme. The selected 34 projects will receive the total amount of almost € 25 million.
The priorities of the programme are the development of local culture, tourist attractiveness of the region, preservation of the national cultural heritage, sustainable development of the region, improvement of the ecological situation and infrastructure, transboundary mobility, exchange of experience, etc. Ukraine will be allocated 37.73% of the grant money, which is the largest amount compared to other participating countries.
Moreover, the project proposal of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Maramures (Romania) "Promoting the Development of Crafts and Gastronomy as Essential Components of the Cultural Heritage of the Carpathian Euroregion" was approved by the Committee (total grant financial support makes € 581.954.68).
The partners of the project are Babeș-Bolyai University (Romania), the University of Miskolc (Hungary), Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county (Hungary) and the Transcarpathian Enterprise Support Fund (Ukraine)
Uzhhorod National University is represented in the project by a research group of the Faculty of History and International Relations, headed by Associate Professor Nadiya Keretsman. The researchers have to conduct anthropological analysis of the subjects of crafts and gastronomy in the Transcarpathian region, to identify, map and test the thematic cross-border tourist routes. The project promises to be interesting and exciting for the project team and will make a significant contribution to the development of tourist attractiveness of Transcarpathia.
