UzhNU hosted international conference on physical therapy and ergotherapy
On October 17 - 18, 2019 Uzhhorod National University hosted a scientific and practical conference "Modern Approaches to the Formation of Professional Competences of Specialists in Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy" with the participation of guests from abroad. The conference was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Health and Physical Education of UzhNU. The event was organized by Uzhhorod National University, SE "Karpaty" Clinical Sanatorium, and the Charitable Organization "Medical Aid Committee in Transcarpathia".
The issues covered at of the conference included physical therapy, ergotherapy in the field of health care, formation of healthy lifestyle by means of physical education and sports, support of qualitative training in the field of special education and health-saving and health-forming technologies in the system of public healthcare.
Practitioners from abroad, including specialists from Switzerland, joined the work of the organizing and scientific committees, and took part in the conference along with domestic experts. Special educator, Master of Arts in Educational Sciences, Hendrika Graff de Ruiter dwelt on the prerequisites for successful inclusion in schools, and the main aspects of speech development in children with mental disorders were covered by a speech therapist of MAS Cranio Facial Kinetic Science (MCFKSc) Dr. Susanne Codoni.
Swiss experts represent the “Parasolka” Association, which has a long-standing relationship with Transcarpathia in the field of development and implementation of medical and educational services for people with disabilities. In particular, at the current stage of international cooperation, a tripartite agreement has been signed on the creation of new educational conditions for future professionals working with people with disabilities. The document was signed by the heads of the Charitable Organization "Medical Aid Committee in Transcarpathia", Uzhhorod National University and the Association "Parasolka".
