On September 20, 2019, the rector of Uzhhorod National University, Volodymyr Smolanka, signed an agreement with the Transcarpathian State Scientific Research and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The meeting was also attended by the vice-rector of UzhNU Oleksandr Rohach, the teacher of the Department of Civil Law and Process, legal advisor of the Transcarpathian SSRFC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Pavlo Konch, and the director of the Transcarpathian SSRFC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Popelskyi.

The main reason for signing the agreement is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire practical skills by generalizing the theoretical knowledge gained at university. According to Oleksandr Popelskyi, students will benefit from such cooperation, as they will be able to observe how the examination of materials, substances and products is conducted, see the processes of trace evidence examination, including fingerprint identification, etc. It will encourage students to study harder and help them with the choice of their future profession.

The cooperation will be mutually beneficial. SSRFC staff will get new opportunities for expansion of their scientific activity, there will be a new platform for information exchange of best practices, they will be able to get acquainted with the leading national experts and publish the results of their joint scientific achievements.
