Ukrainian and foreign scientists were looking for the vector of development of financial and credit system of Ukraine at the conference in UzhNU

On April 23-25, the Department of Finance and Banking of the Faculty of Economics of UzhNU held an International scientific and practical conference "Financial and credit system - vector of development for Ukraine", which was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of UzhNU. The three-day scientific event of this level was held for the first time and brought together about 200 researchers and practitioners from different regions of Ukraine and abroad to discuss financial and economic issues and find ways of their solution.

Co-organizers of the conference were the Department of Finance of the Regional State Administration, Transcarpathian Regional Centre for Socio-Economic and Humanities Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The conduct of such a large-scale conference was possible due to the support of PJSC "CB Khreschatyk" and the chairman of the Board of the bank - honored economist of Ukraine Dmytro Hrydzhyk.

"Participation of scientists from 58 domestic and 8 foreign universities indicates high level of the conference and good scientific relations", - said the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka at the opening ceremony, and praised the efforts of UzhNU economists who conducted the third consecutive international conference.

The conference was attended by a graduate of the Department of Finance and Banking, Head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko: "I think that UzhNU has to become the vector which will indicate the directions of development of education, science and economics both at the regional and at the national level.  Therefore, public authorities and bodies of local self-government anchor their hopes on researchers of UzhNU."

"Economy must determine policy, not vice versa. Security of the state depends on the degree of its financial independence. The Faculty of Economics successfully works in the field of science and this conference is of special interest for me, because I am a graduate of the department. Hopefully, the results of the forum will be used in practice,"- said the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Associate Professor Vitaliy Serzhanov.

The initiator and organizer of the conference, Head of the Department of Finance and Banking of Uzhhorod National University, Associate Professor Vira Vartsaba believes that the current tasks on the way of Ukraine's integration into European and international financial space need reconsideration of the role of university education in the formation of basic parameters of intellectual, social and scientific potential of the economic system of the state and also financial and credit system. Therefore, the conference was organized to present the results of basic research on the issues of financial and credit system of Ukraine and find ways of introducing innovative ideas for improving the areas of financial policy reform at the national and regional levels.

An important achievement of scientific forum was the opportunity to study experience in solving problems of financial and credit sector in other countries, shared by the scientists from Slovakia, Poland, Germany and Hungary.

"I think these forums are extremely important. We were able to exchange views and share our experience. Today we have signed a memorandum of cooperation between our universities, so we are looking forward to fruitful cooperation in the future "- shared her impressions the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Professor Ludmila Lipkova.

Reports of the I International scientific and practical conference "Financial and credit system - vector of development for Ukraine" have been published in a separate edition that includes different points of view on the theoretical and practical aspects of financial and credit system of Ukraine, monetary, fiscal and financial security of the state and businesses in the context of the global financial crisis.
