The creation of such a unit in Uzhhorod National University is caused by both its strategic location and intensifying international cooperation of Ukraine with foreign countries. The fact is, the Carpathian region borders not only five foreign countries (Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova) but also the NATO (from 1999) and the EU states (from 2004). The  tendency of rapid expansion of foreign economic relations is most typical for border regions. There is a high demand for well-skilled and qualified international relations specialists. We believe that it is the Faculty of International Relations of UzhNU that contributes to solving this urgent problem.

The head of the Department of International Economic Relations is the Doctor of Economics, the honored worker of  higher education of Ukraine, professor V. P. Pryhodko. Educational process at the department is provided by highly professional teaching staff – 2 professors, 8 candidates in economics, 8 associate professors and 5 teachers. Some specific disciplines at the department are provided by associate professors and teachers from other departments of UzhNU. Highly qualified practical  professionals are involved to conduct special courses of studies.
